Good afternoon, As you know, the middle & high school closed today at 11:30 AM due to very low water pressure. After the water well pipe and pump were pulled, it was determined that the pump failed, and a new pump and pipe were installed late this afternoon. Whenever a well is opened up for work, the system must be chlorinated to remove any bacteria that may have entered the system. After chlorination, water samples must be collected two times from the system and tested to ensure no bacteria are present in the water. Each test requires the samples to have a 24-hour incubation period before determining whether bacteria are present. The Health Department is allowing the MS/HS to have school tomorrow, but we cannot use the MS/HS kitchen or any water for drinking. Drinking water is provided using water coolers and cups. Bathrooms are available for everyday use. For breakfast, there will be prepackaged options. For lunch, we will bring village pizzeria and also have prepackaged cold sandwiches available. The first water sample will be collected tomorrow morning. If all goes well, the second sample will be collected on Saturday and must incubate for 24 hours before being assessed for the presence of bacteria. We expect to receive the results of that test sometime Sunday afternoon. If we don't have results by Monday morning, we will operate under similar guidelines, with most likely a different lunch option. I apologize for any inconvenience caused by this situation. I also thank you for being patient as we work through the issue. If you have questions or concerns, please contact me at 989-883-2360 This message doesn't apply to the elementary building. Sincerely, Josh Hahn Superintendent

Good Morning Parents and Guardians, We are experiencing water pressure issues that stems from an issue with a well for the high school and middle school buildings. As a result we do not have the ability to use the restrooms or water within the building. This does not affect the Elementary school. Without water pressure we are unable to have students and staff in the building and will need to send students home early today. We are currently working on arranging buses and will be dismissing students at 11:30 am. This does not affect Elementary school and they will be operating on a normal school day schedule with release at the normal 3:05 pm time. We apologize for the inconvenience and will do our best to get this issue resolved as soon as possible. We will continue to provide updated information on our progress in resolving this issue. For any questions about parent pick-up or transportation, please contact the high school/middle school office at 989-883-2534 Regards, USA Schools
